The Polaris Robotic Range
Polaris splits its robots into four families. Freedom is the cordless line. PCX and ERA are the current corded models, built around Cyclonic Vacuum Technology and the Easy Lift removal system. The older Sport series (9450, 9550, 9650iQ) uses four-wheel drive and Vortex Vacuum, and covers the largest pools — up to 60 ft.
What Polaris Does Well
Two things stand out. The Easy Lift system drives the cleaner to the waterline and drains it before you lift, which matters on machines that run to 40 lb. And cyclonic separation keeps suction from fading as the canister fills, which is the difference between a cleaner that works for 30 minutes and one that works for the whole cycle.
Where We'd Steer You Elsewhere
The Sport series has a long review history with a middling average, mostly around multi-season durability. At those prices the Dolphin Quantum and Premier are better-reviewed machines that we sell and support directly.
