What "Open Box" Means Here
An open-box cleaner is a unit whose packaging was opened but which never went into service — most often a customer return within the 30-day window, sometimes a display or photography unit. Run hours are effectively zero. The robot itself is new; what you're giving up is a sealed carton.

Every open-box and refurbished cleaner we list is inspected and bench-tested in-house, ships complete with its power supply, filters, and documentation, and is registered for genuine manufacturer warranty coverage. That is a different product from a marketplace "renewed" listing of unknown origin, where the warranty is usually void and the missing filter cartridge is your problem.
Every Open-Box Unit Is Checked Before It Ships
- Full function test — motors, drive tracks, pump, and cable are run and verified.
- Complete contents — power supply, filter cartridges or bags, and manual all confirmed present.
- Cosmetic grading — anything beyond light packaging scuffs doesn't ship as open box.
- Warranty registration — the unit is registered to you for the full manufacturer term.
Open Box or Refurbished?
Open box is the better buy if you want a robot that is functionally new and you'd rather not think about run hours. Refurbished saves a bit more and is the right call if price is the deciding factor — see the side-by-side comparison.
