Dolphin Proteus DX4 Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner

The Proteus DX4 Plus is the Dolphin for pools with structure — steps, benches, sun ledges. Those are the areas robots usually skip and owners end up brushing by hand, and this model is explicitly built to cover them.

Steps and sun ledges

A tanning ledge is a shallow horizontal shelf that most robots either can't reach or slide off. The DX4 Plus is specified to scrub steps and ledges as part of its normal cycle, which on a modern pool with a big Baja shelf is the difference between a robot that finishes the job and one that leaves you the worst part of it.

Corded power

Continuous power means suction and brush speed at the end of a cycle match the start. On a pool with a lot of surface area relative to its 33 ft length — which is exactly what a stepped, ledged pool is — that consistency matters.

Cable management

The tangle-resistant cable is a specific design response to the classic corded complaint. It won't eliminate every twist, but it substantially reduces the mid-cycle stall where the robot runs out of usable cable.
